VK4JRC Home Station is located grid square QG56FJ, outside Rockhampton, Queensland Australia.
The radios are an ICOM 718, ICOM 7200, SG-2020 HF units with all bands 160m through 10m, the 7200 covering 6m SSB too
TNCs are an SCS PTC-IIPro, SCS PTC-IIEx, SCS DSP Tracker, KAM XL, AEA DSP-232, Tigertronics SL-USB Interface which run CW, RTTY, Amtor, Pactor-I, II & III, Packet, Robust Packet, NAVTEX, SSTV, FAX, PSK31, NBEMS plus DSP Audio Filtering, with all soundcard modes.
Computer is a Twinhead S14K Laptop, with external flat screen
Antenna is a Cushcraft MA-5V vertical with 20m to 10m coverage, incl WARC Bands.
Also have a Kenwood TH-D7A(G), Yaesu VX-7R & ICOM IC-Q7A.

Most of my operations are on Digital Modes including HF APRS, HF Packet, Amtor, Pactor, PSK31 & DominoEx. These modes have various features, depending on the software programs in use. Some modes work very well at low data rates under weak signal conditions, aided by the DSP circuitry in the SCS PTC-IIPro TNC. Using Ham radio deluxe and FLDigi for most soundcard modes. |
